Migraine and Homeopathy

Migraine is a type of headache in which generally one side of the head hurts. These headaches typically tend to be pulsating or throbbing in nature. There may also be associated nausea and extreme sensitivity to light and sound. The intensity of a migraine attack may vary – some being very severe while others may be moderate. Lack of sleep, hunger, exposure to sun, emotional disturbances are some of the most common triggers for a migraine attack.

Homeopathic medicines can treat migraines very well. Homeopathic philosophy does not favor the use of short cuts for the treatment of any disease. It goes deeper into the cause of the problem to completely eradicate the tendency to have these recurrent migraine headache episodes and not just provide relief of the pain for that moment.

Here are some homeopathic remedies commonly used for migraines.

  1. Belladonna

  2. Glonoinum

  3. Spigelia

  4. Natrum Mur

These remedies mentioned are merely examples to explain how Homeopathic medicines can help with migraine. The correct remedy can only be chosen after taking into consideration the whole history of the patient. It is recommended to never self-medicate without consulting a qualified Homoeopathic Physician.
